Childhood Memories of Two Chefs

A Four-Hand Feast Not to be Missed at Mozaic Gastronomique - Friday, September 20, 2019

A unique once-in-a-lifetime and one-night-only culinary experience awaits at Ubud’s renowned Mozaic Gastronomique Restaurant on Friday, September 20, 2019, when two legendary chefs join forces and talents to present a meal both lavish and luxuriant.

Chris Salans the founder and owner-proprietor of Mozaic Gastronomique and Spice by Chris Salans, and Julien Royer the French co-owner of Odette – a modern French Restaurant situated in The National Gallery of Singapore will jointly prepare a six-course degustation menu designed to dazzle and delight in equal measure.

Both chefs learned their culinary skills while growing up in France. The 4-hands 2-chef feast is titled “Childhood Memories of The Two Chefs” and will be a culinary recollection of two men who literally “cut their teeth” and nurtured their palates in the French kitchen.

Frenchman Julien Royer is flying in from Odette – his 2 Michelin Star establishment that was voted the #1 best restaurant in Asia in the San Pellegrino Awards 2019.  Meanwhile, Chris Salans, the host in Bali, is an American who was, in fact, also raised in the kitchens of France where he began his training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris before taking internships in France at Michelin-starred restaurants such as L’Oustau de Baumanière and Lucas Carton. More recently, Salans was inducted into the pantheon of culinary demigods - Maîtres Cuisiniers de France Association.

In a menu on the Island of the Gods that will arguably be fit for the Gods – diners can look for highlights that will include one dish from Chef Royer incorporating 10 grams of Kaluga Caviar and incomparable Japanese Miyaki Beef.

The meal is available with or without premium paired wines.
