A culinary revolution is underway in Bali. Time-honored local dishes are being explored and “tweaked” by a new generation of sophisticated “foodies” who bring international standards of kitchen skills and presentation to bear without sacrificing authenticity in the process. These same pioneers have combined their cultured appetites accumulated during world travels, bringing to Bali Island-made world class wines, chocolates, cheeses and propagated produce grown in a new Balinese terroir.
Be an eye-witness to the rapid evolution of Bali’s culinary scene by attending the Bali Food & Wine Festival at Rumah Luwih on May 18th to sample and enjoy the growing range of local food and life-style products in the hotel’s garden from 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm.
On that date, the Resort’s Gardens will be home to a dazzling range of tasting kiosks featuring locally produced food and wine for sampling and purchase at affordable prices.
The event will be held alongside the resort’s stunning infinity pool and garden where guests can enjoy some exquisite and mouth-watering food and wines. Those attending the Festival are welcome to make a day of it and bring their swimming suits to work on their tans while returning time and again to sample items on offer from the many kiosks in operation.
‘Chilling out’ will be the order of the day with music from leading bands such as Marapu and the Hydrant interspersed with music from the Island’s top DJs, while sipping excellent local wines from Hattens’, Sababay, Isola, and Plaga, and allowing the wide range of Pod Chocolates to melt in your mouth.
Admission is a very affordable at Rp. 150,000 per person and includes a first drink and a chance to win attractive door prizes.
Food and drinks will be attractively priced, with many complimentary tastings on offer. Not to be missed will be the assortment of entertaining food demonstrations, including an appearance by Bali’s “original” celebrity Chef Chris Salans from Mozaic Gastronomique .
A supervised children’s activity center provided by Cheeky Monkeys Learning Center will be in operation as a welcome diversion for the kids in attendance a much needed “guilt-free” break for mom and dad enjoying the day only a few meters away.
Proceeds from the Bali Food & Wine Festival at Rumah Luwih will be shared with Solemen and the Bali Children’s Foundation to help less fortunate member of Balinese Society.
Targeted to become an annual event, the Bali Food & Wine Festival at Rumah Luwih will showcase Lebih Beach, Gianyar as a destination for fun, fantastic music, community fellowship, fabulous food, and cultural renewal that should not be missed.
