A Rare Evening of Music Sublime in Bali

In its continuing series of concerts of fine music, The Padama Legian Resort will present a evening of music featuring compositions by Johannes Brahms, Fritz Kreisler, Béla Bartók, and Camille Saint-Saëns on Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Performing on the evening will be two outstanding Indonesian Artists, both up and coming stars on the international musical scene: Giovani Biga on violin and Carla Suharto on Piano.

Giovani Biga

Originally from Jakata, 22-year-old Giovani Biga began studying the violin in 2004 when he was only eight adding the piano to his list of instruments when he was eleven. Possessing a prodigious talent, he made his first solo appearance with an orchestra at 14. He has performed as soloist with orchestras in Indonesia and abroad that include the Nusantara Symphony Orchestra, Jakarta Concert Orchestra, Jakarta String Ensemble, Jakarta Sinfonietta, Twilite Youth Orchestra, The Butterfly Symphony, Concordia Orchestra, Hamburger Camerata Minden Kammerphilharmonie, and Detmolder Kammerorcheste. He has represented Indonesia in the Asian Youth Orchestra that toured the capitals of Asia.

He continues to win numerous awards and recognitions, including Spain, Germany, and Sweden.

He has undertaken masterclasses and private lesson with Jeno Kopandi (Concert Master of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra), Boston String Quartet (USA), Prof. Vasille Beluska (USA), Piotr Tarcholik (Poland), Auryn Quartet (Germany), Prof. Peter Orth (USA), Prof. Thomas Christian (Germany), Prof. Diemut Popen (Germany), Prof. Josef Rissin (Germany) and performed collaboration concerts with Thomas Beijer (Piano, Holland), Kraayehof Tango Ensemble (Holland), Ananda Sukarlan (Piano, Spain), Prof. Matthias Lingenfelder (Violin, Germany), Prof. Peter Orth (Piano,USA), and Prof. Harmut Schneider (Piano, Germany).

Biga is completing an undergraduate degree in Classical Violin Performance and Orchestral studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (Germany), under the guidance of Prof. Ulrike Anima Mathé. He is the recipient of a scholarship from Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Hochschule für Musik Detmold (GFF) and DAAD Preis. 

He will soon return to Europe to pursue post graduate musical studies.

Carla Suharto 

Carla Suharto works as a piano instructor at The Jakarta Conservatory of Music. In her childhood and teen years, Carla studied piano at the Conservatory before continuing her keyboard studies on an undergraduate level at the Pelita Harapan University Conservatory of Music and post-graduate studies at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in  Essen, Germany.

In Concert in Bali

The performance will take place in the Ballroom of the Padma Legian resort commencing with pre-show wine, beer, juices and canapés from 5:30-6:30 pm followed  the concert beginning at 6:30 pm.

Cost for the evening including drinks and canapés is Rp. 300,000.

Music students can receive a 50% discount while Bank Central Asia (BCA) credit or debit card holders are eligible for a 30% discount.
