Bali Countdown 2020

Bali Biggest Display of Fireworks Scheduled on New Year’s Eve 2019 at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park.

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK) and home to Bali’s iconic Garuda Wisnu Monument will host what they boast will be the largest fireworks display to welcome in 2020 on the countdown to midnight December 31, 2019.

Andrew Prawiradisastra, the head of the division for marketing communication and events at GWK, told Kompas.com that 20,000 separate pyrotechnic launches have been prepared for “Bali Countdown 2020”.

The pyrotechnic display will take place over two sessions with a smaller, introductory display at 9:00 on followed by the “main event” at midnight.

The fireworks will include 20 separate types of fireworks that will light the sky for periods of 5 to 10 people. The fireworks will surround and illuminate the Garuda Wisnu Monument to entertain a targeted 10,000 guests expected to visit the park to witness the transition to 2020.

The main stage in the Lotus Pond will host non-stop music throughout the evening including appearances by Diskopantera, Feel Koplo, Joni Agung & Double T, and a number of top DJ talent.
