Garuda Indoneisa has introduced “high carbohydrate” meal options on flights between Japan and Indonesia.
In a move to provide “comfort food” the “high-carb” menu options include rice, noodles and bread items.
Garuda says the starch options are aimed at main passengers who the carrier claim have larger appetites.
Rocket News 24 reports that the meal will be offered as “In-flight Full Power Charge ★ Men’s Meal Garuda” and will include:
- Naniwa Special Lunch Fried Rice – Japanese styled fried rice topped with prawns.
- Yakisoba (Japanese style Noodles)
- Fried Chicken
- Bread topped with sesame seeds
Garuda is promoting the meals as the perfect solution for the hungry male passengers seeking to eliminate the monotony of a long flight.
Despite the profiling of those who will want to enjoy the new menu option, ladies are also welcome to partake in the "Men's Meal Option."
The high carbohydrate options from Garuda Indonesia
is being offered initially only on GA 889
and GA 883
flying from Kansai Airport
(Osaka) to Bali.
