Bali Safari and Marine Park Celebrates its Anniversary Through Community Outreach Programs

(11/15/2013)

Nearing its sixth anniversary, Bali Safari and Marine Park is celebrating its 3rd Indonesia Travel and Tourism Award 2013/2014 as the Nation’s Leading Theme Park.

To share its joy, the Bali Safari and Marine Park is giving back to the community via skill-training programs for local villagers, blood donor campaigns and making contributions to a nearby orphanage.

Skill training sessions were conducted for three villages over a two-week period during November 2013. Senior members of the Park’s staff gave operations training and housekeeping courses on food and beverage training to the villagers.

The celebration of the Park’s 6th anniversary was preceded by a blood donor drive held among employees of the park on November 6, 2013.

In addition, a charity clothes drive saw children at orphanages in nearby Gianyar and Denpasar receive new outfits provided by the Park and its workers.

A visit by staffers to the Dharma Jati , Kesayan Ikang Papa and Yappemakim Orphanages included ‘educative story telling” for the children. Joining the visit were several residents of the Bali Safari Park including an albino python and a sulfur-crested cockatoo handled throughout the visit by experts from the Park.

Hans Manansang, genera manager of the Bali Safari and Marine Park told the Bali Post: “The Corporate Social Responsibility programs carried our within the context of our 6th anniversary as part of Bali’s tourism industry reflects our concern and care for the surrounding communities. In this way, we hope to elevate our concern and outreach to the community and shares our happiness on the occasion of our anniversary. As we grow older, we hope to continue to make a contribution to advancing the Indonesian tourism industry while, at the same time, increasing our contribution as a conservation and education center.”
