Bisnis Bali reports that exports from Bali in October 2013 totaled US$47.46 million, decreasing 9.07% compared to the same month in 2012 when exports worth US$52.09 million were reported.
However, if compared with the preceding month, October exports increased 17.12% from US$40.43 million recorded in September.
According to Gede Suarsa of the Bali office of the Indonesian Statistic Bureau (BPS), Bali exports are driven by goods produced by small industries and handicrafts with 18.08% of all exports destined to the United States. The second largest destination for Bali exports is Japan that represents 14.03%, followed by Australia in third place at 10.30%.
Suarsa outlined that the five main export products from Bali are fish and prawns, jewelry and decorations, wood products, ready-to-wear clothing and furniture.
