Customs and excise officers at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport have apprehended two women from Garut, West Java, caught while trying to smuggle 3.2 kilograms of methamphetamines into Indonesia.
Ihah Sholihah Uju (39) and Lasminah (44) were arrested after arriving on a Singapore Airlines flight SQ 942 on Sunday, December 8, 2013.
Acting suspiciously during a peak travel period, customs officials initially did not find any contraband when examining the women’s luggage. Further examination, however, yielded 3.2 kilograms of in their bag of the women who had been working abroad.
Both will be handed over to the Indonesian police once customs officials have completed their investigations.
