Hotels remain the largest source of tax revenues for the regency of Gianyar in 2013.
For the regency, which includes the popular tourist area of Ubud, Hotel Taxes predominated followed in order or importance by Restaurant Taxes, Entertainment Taxes and Taxes for Water Wells.
The tally on taxes was revealed on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at an award ceremony held to honor top taxpayers in Gianyar held at the Regent’s office.
The head of the tax revenue office for Gianyar, I Putu Gede Bayangkara, said the regions tax target for 2013 of Rp. 263.2 billion (US$21.9 million) has been exceed by 8.87% achieving Rp. 286.6 billion (US$23.9 million)
Hotel Tax revenues represented the largest source of tax revenues (Rp. 73.3 billion), Restaurant Taxes (Rp. 23.6 billion), Entertainment Taxes (Rp. 20.2 billion), and Water Well Taxes (Rp. 3.1 billion).
The awards given to top taxpayers are meant to express the regency’s thanks for supporting local development.
