The legislative election process is now officially underway in Bali and the rest of Indonesia.
In accordance with regulations of the National Election Commission (PKPU), the campaign period leading up to parliamentary elections on April 9, 2014 will run from January 11 until April 5the when a 4 day “quiet” period goes into effect.
As reported by Beritabali.com, the chairman of the Election Commission (KPU), Jusni Kamil Manik, attended a coordination meeting in Bali on Thursday, January 9, 2014, where he reviewed how the campaigns would be conducted.
The highlights of the schedule for election related activities
- March 30 – April 6, 2014 – Voting and tabulation of votes by overseas voters.
- April 6-8, 2013 -Audit of campaign funding
- April 9, 2014 – Election Day and vote counting followed by announcement of winners.
- May 11 – 18, 2014 – Finalization of winning candidates.
The Indonesian Presidential Election will take place July 9, 2014.
