The Honorary Russian Consul in Bali, Chairul Nuku Kamka, is predicting Russian tourism to Bali will grow 18% in 2014.
As reported by Balidiscovery.com, Russian visitors to Bali through the end of November 2013 totaled 71,177 – an increase of 4.42% over the same eleven months in 2012.
Despite the actual figure above, Chairul Nuku Kamka told Bisnis Bali that his office calculated Russian visitor to Bali increased 18% in 2013 and predicts a 15-20% increase for 2014.
The Russia Honorary Consul is optimistic visitor totals will increase because of strong air connections provided by airlines serving Bali such as Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific. He also cited the support of charter flights between Russia and Bali operated by Tran Aero.
Describing the Russian tourists served by the Consulate, Nuku Kamka said they were minimalists, rent vehicles for touring and tend to reserve their accommodation in Bali on-line. He said the Russian tourist seldom eat at hotels, preferring to dine at local restaurants.
