A police detective (Kasatreskrim) of the Karangasem Police Post has been summoned by the Internal Affairs Division of the Bali provincial police headquarter after an incident at a karaoke bar in South Bali.

The detective, AKP Adnan Pandibu, reportedly became inebriated and struck of the karaoke hostesses in a private lounge of the bar. He then reportedly drew a pistol, threatening to discharge the weapon.

Pandibu was reportedly enjoying an evening at the bar accompanied by five colleagues for an evening of drinking and singing. It’s not clear what prompted the policeman to strike the bar hostess that led to his reckless display of a revolver.

A source at the Bali Police Headquarters told Beritabali.com: “Maybe he was drunk, a witness said he had drank a lot and began hitting people. In addition, he pulled his pistol, but it’s not clear if he fired it or only threatened people with it. The situation was quite confused. What’s worse, he was at the entertainment center without the permission of his supervisor.”

The incident in the private lounge at the karaoke bar was witnessed by the owner of the bar, after which the 6 men quickly left the bar.

News of the incident eventually made its way its way to the head of the Karangasem Police Post, AKBP Gede Adhi and the Internal Affair Department (Propam) at Bali Police Headquarters.

When the Propam officers traveled to Karangasem to collect more information on the incident they elected to bring Adnan Panibu back with them to Bali Police Headquarters for further questioning.
