The corruption trial over the misappropriation of parking fees at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport continues.
Testimony before the Court offered by Chris Wisnu Sridana, the former director or PT Penata Sarana Bali (PSB) - the parking company appointed by airport authority PT Angkasa Pura, saw Sridana reluctantly admit parking revenues were siphoned off before being paid to the Airport Authority.
Prosecutors are claiming that the State suffered losses of Rp. 28 billion (US$2.3 million) due to the corruption of parking fees.
Chris made his admission on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Denpasar District Court after receiving a verbal tongue lashing from the judge.
In the court session led by presiding judge Nursyam, Chris was grilled on how monies were handled by the company. Prevaricating and claiming he couldn’t remember details, the judge told Chris he had lied for every minute of his testimony before the Court just as he had lied during his entire 13-year employment of managing the airport’s parking.
Sridana's admission of taking cuts in parking revenues followed shortly thereafter.
Separate testimony by the former operational manager for PSB, Mekhael Maksi, told the court that Chris Sridana hand ordered the misappropriation of parking revenues due to PT Angkasa Pura.
