The State News Agency Antara reports that the Bali police will mobilize two-thirds of their total complement of 12,400 personnel to ensure the 2013 elections run smoothly.
The chief of the Bali police, General Julius Benny Mokalu, confirming 8,200 officers would be deployed, said: “The stipulation is two-thirds of our personnel, we will maximize them.”
According to General Mokalu, the police in Bali will not undertake any special security measures during the coming elections except to provide support and security to the democratic process in accordance with the direction and guidelines set out by National Police Headquarters.
