The Role Foundation - a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering environmental sustainability is calling on the community to celebrate Earth Day 2014 by making a pledge to take  better care of Mother Earth.

In an effort to raise awareness and reverse Balis degrading environmental situation, these pledges will act as written commitments from individuals and businesses alike to state what they will do to keep their Mother Earth clean and healthy this year.

Freedom of choice to select whatever you wish to do - great or small - to save the environment is a centerpiece to the pledge program.

Ideas for possible pledges might include:

  • Promising not throw rubbish on the ground, in rivers or the ocean.
  • To separate garbage into organic, non-organic and recyclable components.
  • To shop green by utilizing reusable bags instead of plastic or paper.
  • To turn off the lights and other electronic devices when not in use.

Bali is facing major trash issues with more than 75% of the Island's trash ending up uncollected on roadsides and in illegal dumps. This garbage ultimately makes its way to the rivers, reefs and ocean - threatening to destroy Bali's environment and affect the health of both local and visiting populations.

Use the Earth Day Pledge program from ROLE Bali as a starting point to join the campaigns for Bye Bye Plastic and Keep Bali Clean being promoted by leaders in the local community such as the Rotary Clubs of Bali, Bali Clean and Green Group, Conrad Bali Resort, Alila Hotels and Aman Hotels Group

Make you pledge on line at through April 19, 2014 at [ROLE Foundation Pledge to Mother Nature

For more information regarding Earth Day events and how you can participate, visit Roles Facebook page.
