The State News Agency Antara reports that Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has claimed he is inspired every time pays a working visit to the Island of Bali.
During a visit to the traditional village of Tampaksiring on Sunday, March 23, 2014, Yudhoyono said that during the nearly ten years he has been in office, he and the First Lady Ani Yudhoyono have frequently visited and set up temporary offices at the Presidential Palace built by Indonesia's first president in the hills of Bali.
Explaining his admiration of Bali and the Tampaksiring Presidential Palace, Yudhoyono said: "First, (we come to Bali) because we all love the Tampaksiring Palace and my desire that the palace built by Bung Karno continues to be used in the best possible manner for both governmental functions and social occasions."
The President has also expressed his love for Bali by promoting Bali as the location for a number of major international conferences on global climate change, ASEAN summits, international trade and the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC 2013).
Moreover, the Indonesian President confessed that Bali has inspired him to writes songs and poems during his visits to the Island. "I have many sweet and beautiful memories," Yudhoyono added.
Turning his comments to the novel "Eat, Pray and Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, President Yudhoyono said that for those seeking affection and solace for the heart - Bali is the perfect destination.
