As reported by the Bali Post and Nusa Bali, Police from the Kuta Police Precinct have arrested two Balinese juveniles for robbing visiting tourists.
Two Balinese boys from Karangasem, East Bali, aged 17 and 16, were arrested by police at their boarding house on Jalan Mataram, Gang Tunjung, Kuta six days after they snatched the bag of Cara Stuart, a visiting tourist from Western Australian.
The two boys who were working as motorcycle jockeys in Kuta stole the belongings of Stuart at 3:00 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in front of a Mama’s Restaurant on Jalan Legian.
The boys grabbed the bag of the tourist, making off with Rp. 680,000 and two hand phones belonging to Stuart. The total value of the theft was put at Rp. 12 million.
The victim reported the theft immediately to the Kuta Police Precinct who were able to track the two boys down at their boardings six days later.
The juvenile delinquents admitted a total of nine thefts - all targeted on foreigners - including that which befell Stuart.
