A repeat offender burglar was arrested by North Kuta Police on Friday, April 25, 2014 after burglarizing the villa of a French woman on Jalan Braban in Kerobokan, North Kuta three days before.
Arrested by police was I Gusti Putu Subawa (41) after police analyzed CCTV recordings that showed him stealing jewelry, a TV and a computer from the woman’s home.
Police recognized the face of the thief, recalling an arrest two months earlier in connection with an attempted break in of a villa in Umalas.
When they arrested Subawa police also took into custody as evidence a television set, two laptops, jewelry, a knife, a sickle and an automobile used as transport by the thief in committing his burglaries.
Subawa has two previous arrests on his record resulting in jail time for thievery.
Working as a free-lance driver, Subawa is known to always carry a knife and a sickle used to threaten any victims who offered resistance.
