In the continuing spat of rumors that the Garuda Indonesia subsidiary PT Citilink Indonesia is eyeing the acquisition of Tigerair Mandala, the CEO of Garuda Emirsyah Satar has made an announcement reported by Bisnis.com that his company will consider every opportunity available in the market and take of profitable opportunities that present themselves.
Satar’s statement comes less than a week after the CEO of Citilink Indonesia, Arif Wibowo, discounted rumors of Citilink pursuing the troubled Tigerair Mandala.
“Any opportunity in the marketplace, we’ll certainly look at. Is the opportunity profitable for Garuda or not? If it adds value for Garuda, then we'll take it," said Satar at an installation program for new officers at the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN).
Last week the aviation marketplace in Jakarta was awash with rumors that Citilink was prepared to acquire Tigerair Mandala in order to strengthen the Garuda subsidiary's regional network.
