The Bali Beach Run is Bali’s first running event organized wholly on the beachfront and conceived to offer fun and recreation to participants of all ages.

Organized by PT Trijaya  Dewata, the first Bali Beach Run was staged in November of 2013 attracting more than 1,500 athletes from around the world. This year’s event, scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2015, is expected to drawn more than 1,800 participants to run the length of Kuta-Legian-Seminyak.

Sponsored by AirAsia Indonesia, the Bali Beach Run will have competition categories for the 10-kilometer open run, 5-kilometer open run and 2.5- kilometer fun run.

Hendra Lapusa, director of PT Trijaya Dewata, said: “We have introduced the 2.5-kilomter fun run this year in order to accommodate participants who want to soak in the atmosphere of the Bali Beach Run, but in a less competitive setting. This is a perfect fit for families with parents able to register their children in this category and then join their kids on the short distance run. This year there will be entertainment throughout the day with live bands, a food bazaar and marching bands."
Speaking on behalf of the Bali Fun Run's main sponsor, AirAsia Indonesia, commercial director Andy Adrian Febryanti, said: “Running has become a popular form of sporting activity. As we know, there are numerous sporting activities including triathlon, marathon and others run over various distances that are attracting public interest, especially among those who love to run. This event presents a different sort of running experience of running along a sandy beach and can be followed by people from every walk of life."
Registration begins from Rp. 150,000 (US$11.25) for the 2.5-kilometer event; Rp. 200,000 (US$15) for the 5-kilometer event; and Rp. 250,000 (US$19) for the 10-kilometer distance. Race registration includes an exclusive race pack including a bag, race jersey and participant number.

Race packs can be picked up at Beachwalk in Kuta September 3-5, 2015.
