A Malaysian tourist, Mohd Fadzli Bin Md Dazali (33), has drowned while visiting the Colek Pamor Waterfall at Gitgit, in Buleleng, North Bali.
NusaBali said that officials at the waterfall believe the man slipped on the rocks at the base of the waterfall on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, and fell into a natural pool where, unable to swim, he drowned.
The accident occurred at about 1:15 pm and was accompanied by a local guide to whom he had handed a bag containing his camera just before falling into the pool where he drowned.
The guide advised security on duty at the waterfall and police were immediately called to the location as a search for the Malaysian commenced. After a 1.5 hour search, the man’s body was recovered from the pool at a depth of 4-meters.
Faldzli’s body was taken to the Buleleng General Hospital in Singaraja for forensic examination. Other than death by drowning, no signs of physical violence were detected by medical examiners.
The Malaysian was vacationing alone in Bali at the time of the mishap and was staying at a Lovina area hotel.
