No Price Mercy at the Ferry

Bali-Java Ferry Tariff Increased 12%

Before the Lebaran Holiday peak travel period, the Government has announced its intentions to raise ferry fares between Ketapang, East Java and Gilimanuk in West Bali by around 11%.

The new, higher tariff will take effect on May 15, 2017, in accordance with a regulation issued by the Minister of Transportation raising ferry tariffs nationwide.

Balipost.com reports that on May 15th the following prices will apply:

  • Adult pedestrian increased from Rp. 6,000 to Rp. 6,500
  • A pedal bicycle increases from Rp. 7,000 to Rp. 7.5000
  • A motorcycle increases from Rp. 22,000 to Rp. 24,000
  • A large motorcycle increased from Rp. 34,000 to Rp. 37,000.
  • Private sedan increased from Rp. 138,000 to Rp. 159,000.
  • Pick up truck increased from Rp. 124,000 to Rp. 141,000.
  • Medium-sized busses increase from Rp. 262,000 to Rp. 302,000.
  • Medium-sized trucks increase from Rp. 210,000 to Rp. 242,000.
  • Large busses increase from Rp. 436,000 to Rp. 495,000.
  • Large goods trucks increase from Rp. 347,000 to Rp. 395,000.
