(8/13/2017) reports that Bali has been chosen as the destination to host the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards to be held in June 2018. The gala annual event of the Indian Film Industry, thousands of international participants and Indian screen artists are expected to travel to Bali to participate in the Indian Film Academy Awards.

A delegation of organizers for the event led by Neeta Malhotra, who is President of the Bali and Indian Friendship Association, met with the Bali Provincial Chief of Police, Dr. Petrus Reinhard Golose, on Monday, August 7, 2017, to discuss the major film event destined for Bali.

The Committee said a number of areas in Bali will be used to stage the IIFA Awards, including Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park (GWK), the Niti Mandala Renon fields, Taman Bhagawan and the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) at Nusa Dua.

“As many as 15,000 participants and hundred of Bollywood stars are confirmed to grace this event. Because this event is a prestigious event, we hope that Bali’s Chief of Police will support the IIFA Awards 2018,” said Malhotra.

Inspector of Police General Dr. Golose expressed his appreciation on the selection of Bali for the IIFA Awards 2018, saying he hopes the prestigious award program would help promote Bali tourism.
