Grand Hyatt Bali played host in mid-April to a visit from internationally renowned spiritual guru, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation - the world's largest volunteer-based educational and humanitarian organization.
Born in India in 1956, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a spiritual scholar and student of Vedic literature who, by the age of 17 years, had already earned an advanced degree in Modern Physics. His Art of Living Foundation, which he founded in 1982, and the International Association for Human Values, established 15 years later, have developed 25,300 village-based programs bringing self-reliance and sustainability to millions of people.
Determined to rejuvenate human values by fostering a violence-free society in which people may lead happier, healthier and stress-free lives, His Holiness travels to more than 35 countries each year to share his message that all religions and spiritual traditions share common goals and values.
On Tuesday, April 18, 2006, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar conducted a Pranayama session at Grand Garden, Grand Hyatt Bali where his message of "love, practical wisdom and service encourages harmony and teaches everyone to follow their chosen path while honoring the path of others" found a most receptive audience among the Balinese who hold these sentiments in the highest regard.
