Bali Hotel Association Appoints Board and Directors

The Bali Hotel Association (BHA) have appointed its Board and Committee for 2008 to be formally inaugurated at a meeting of the organization on January 16, 2008, at the Ritz Carlton Bali, Resort & Spa.

Bali Hotels Association is a professional association of star-rated hotels and resorts in Bali. Members include general managers from 80 hotels and resorts, representing 14,000 hotel rooms and 21,600 employees in Bali.

The BHA Board and Committee for 2008:

• Chairman: Michael Burchett, General Manager of the Conrad Bali Resort & Spa. Burchett held the same BHA post in 2007.

• Vice Chairman: Robert Langerway, General Manager of the BVLGARI Resort & Spa. Langerway will also serve the BHA as the Director of Business Development. He is replacing outgoing Vice-Chairman Hadi Taryoto, General Manager of the Bali Rani Hotel.

• Director of Finance: Jorge Monje, General Manager of the Melia Benoa – All Inclusive Resort. Monje held this same position at BHA in 2007.

• Director of Marketing & Public Relations: Jimmy Boyles, General Manager of Melia Bali Villas & Spa Resort. Boyles replaces Jan Bungaard of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua.

• Director Environment: Jork Bosselaar, General Manager of the Alila Manggis. He replaces Urs Klee of the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel who held this BHA position in 2007.

• Director Government Relations and General Affairs: Kahar Salamun, General Manager, All Seasons Legian Resort.

• Director Cultural, Sports & Social Activities: Wayan R. Astawa, General Manager of the Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club.

• Director Education & Training: Amanda Pummer, General Manager of the Alila Ubud. This position was filled last year by Robert Langerway of the BVLGARI Resort & Spa.

• Director Safety & Security; David Wilson, General Manager of the Ritz Carlton Bali, Resort & Spa. Wilson held this same position on the 2007 BHA Board.

• Director Community Relations: Jose Luis Calle, General Manager of The Bale. Calle replaces Liv Gussing of The Amandari who held this position in 2007.

• BHA Executive Director Djinaldi Gosana.
