Arguably the culinary event of the year will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the Laguna Resort and Spa when the Bali Culinary Professional's (BCP) Art Culinaire Dinner will be held for the third year.
This year's theme, "Art Culinaire" celebrates the art of cooking, fine food, exceptional wines and specially commissioned art works that commemorate the talent and creativity that is found on the island of Bali.
Expecting a sell out event, the organizing committee has spent months planning what promises to be a memorable evening of unparalleled dining and entertainment.
This year's event, supported by many in the hospitality and tourism community as well as Bali's vibrant art scene, also includes a large array of prizes, an auction of original artworks specially commissioned for the evening and the chance to take one of the chefs home to prepare an elaborate private dinner.
The ballroom at Laguna will be artfully decorated in keeping with the theme and souvenir plates, decorations and giveaways will feature the creative collaboration of the chefs and artists at work.
Let the Cooking Begin!
As member of the World Association of Chefs, BCP will bring together seven of the island's artists of the kitchen collaborating to design a stunning menu for the limited number of participants fortunate to register to participate at this event.
As the evening approaches, the chefs will congregate in the kitchen of BCP's Chairman, Made Putra, Executive Chef of Laguna Resort and Spa. The finishing of the entire seven-course menu will be televised live throughout Laguna’s magnificent ballroom giving diners a chance to see the artists at work in the kitchen located just a few meters away.
The seven talented chefs called to create the evening's fare are:

● Andreas Krampl - Ritz Carlton Bali Resort & Spa
● Bastian Mantey - Laguna Resort & Spa

● Darren Lauder - Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa
● Chris Salans – Mozaic
Each of these talented professionals will prepare a single course that will be carefully matched with wine or champagne as the evening progresses.
The event will feature great entertainment, art work, fine food and wines generously supported by suppliers, leading resorts and restaurants, as well as the art community. The raffle and auction held in the course of the evening will raise money to support the BCP's scholarship fund which sponsors and mentors talented young chefs.
