75 children from the Elisama and Tat Twam Asi orphanages in Bali were treated to a day out on Monday, October 21, 2008, at the popular Waterbom Park in Bali hosted by the chefs of the Bali Culinary Professional (BCP) organization.
Held in conjunction with the celebration of International Chef Day, the kids enjoyed a full day of swimming, water-based rides and attractions, and a bountiful lunch served up by the chefs of the BCP. After lunch the chefs and kids joined a number of competitive games with gift hampers provided by local suppliers presented to the children.
The BCP is an affiliate of a world-wide organization in which over 8 million chefs are counted as members. International Chefs Day provides an opportunity for local culinary professional to raise awareness of their profession while reaching out to make a difference in their local communities.
