Gempita Gianyar a festival of art, culture and fashion will be held for the third time June 30 – July 4, 2010, in Ubud – the cultural heartland of Bali. In addition to the celebration of the Gianyar region's rich cultural and performance life, this year's festival will also rejoice in Ubud's recent selection as one of "The Best Cities in Asia" by Conde Nast Traveller.

Quoted in Kompas.com,, the Regent of Gianyar, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati said, "the festival is an event to appreciate and preserve our artistic culture while at the same time celebrating Ubud's selection as one of the 'Best Cities in Asia'."

Tjokorda, who is also known locally as "Cok Ace," told the press that he was very proud that Ubud, one of the sub-districts of Gianyar, has earned international attention and is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Asia.. Explained Cok Ace, "This is an extraordinary predicate that needs to be celebrated by the public during this year's Gempita Gianyar Festival. The festival has proudly packaged a number of creative programs to promote this area as the 'land of Bali's arts.'"
