The Blue Eyes Karaoke entertainment center on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai in Sanur, Bali was raided by police from the South Denpasar police precinct on Thursday, September 2, 2010, resulting in the arrest of four nude female dancers caught entertaining guests in one of the private karaoke salons.

According to Beritabali.com, police had long had the popular nightspot under suspicion for providing strip-tease entertainment, but were only able to bust open the case with the recent appointment of the new precinct chief for south Denpasar, Leo Martin Pasaribu.

The arrest followed an undercover sting operation in which police kept a guest who had ordered nude dancers under surveillance. Once the girls were performing nude before the guests police moved in and made the arrests.

According to the report, the dancing girls were booked from an outside source and not from the stable of female drinking companions employed at Blue Eyes.

Police are interrogating the girls and are contemplating legal steps against the owner and manager of the nightspot that allowed nude entertainers.

In a subsequent report in Bali Post, Bali police have now confirmed that the General Managers and Manager of the Blue Eye Karaoke are now in police custody, while the four nude dancers have been released on their own recognizance.

South Denpasar precinct chief, Leo Martin Pasaribu, said he felt forced to take stern action, especially since the offense occurred during the fasting month of Ramadhan.

He also said the two men, may be charged under the criminal counts carrying a 1.5 year prison terms if convicted.

Pasaribu said specific circumstances of the case which he did not disclose, required the imprisonment of the two men and allowed the release of the 4 women.

The guests who booked the services of the nude dancers have only been questioned by police as witnesses in the case and have not been charged.

Public displays of nudity are forbidden under Indonesian law.
