4th Annual U-Boo-D Halloween Ball in Ubud to Air 80,000 Bali Villagers.

(9/25/2010)

The 4th Annual U-Boo-D Halloween Ball - one of Bali's highest yielding annual fund-raising events conducted by The Rotary Club of Bali Ubud, will return on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Antonio Blanco Museum and Gardens, Campuhan Ubud.

Organizers are promising "Silent as the grave auctions," raffles prizes, best costume awards, haunted grounds, "Undead" music, scary creatures, gruesome gourmet warungs and spine-tingling fun – all in aid of the Rotary Clubs goal to raise more than Rp. 225 million (US$25,000) in support of the Bali Rural Development Project to bring clean, safe water to some of the poorest families on the island.

Through the generosity of the Antonio Blanco Foundation and celebrated Indonesian artist, Mario Blanco, paintings and lithographs valued at more than Rp. 50 million will be auctioned to the highest bidder, at the evening's special VIP "party within a party." The evening's entertainment will be headlined by American Blues musician, Jim Larkin, accompanied by a swing band including the best of Bali's local musicians and visiting international performers.

Purchase tickets/donations can be made to the Rotary Club of Bali Ubud by phoning Desak Nyoman at +62-(0)82145 168095.

Bali Rural Development Project

The ambitious ten-year Bali Rural Development Project is a long-term, multi-faceted program in the Soraya region of Karangasem, east Bali, where 8,000 villagers currently must walk two hours daily to the nearest water source. The project's initial goal is to provide a permanent and affordable supply of clean water for the area. The program address local challenges to livelihood, education and health, with Rotary working closely with the villagers to decide development steps and measures.
