The Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) will again host the Nusa Dua Fiesta October 15-19, 2010, in a bid to help popularize the Nusa Dua Complex as a world tourism destination.
As reported by bisnis.com, the Indonesian Minister for Culture and Tourism, Jero Wacik is reminding all that the festival, which has adopted "Green Tourism" as its theme, is not only about showcasing the rich diversity of cultures and tourism products of Nusa Dua, but also a program of environmental concern as evidenced by the inclusion of beach clean ups, billiard competitions and golf tournaments. "Nusa Dua has always been known as a green zone, moreover it has received a 'Green Globe Award' which has been endorsed by the United Nations," explained Wacik.
The Nusa Dua Fiesta 2010 will be enlivened with dances from other regions of Indonesia, such as the colossal Kebo Iwa and Putra Nyale from Lombok, together with dance performances from India and Japan.
The chief director of the BTDC, I Made Mandra, said, "As the managers of a 5-star-hotel complex, BTDC has taken steps to preserve the environment earning a 'Green Globe 21' award as proof positive that as a hotel complex we have a commitment to sustainable tourism."
Mandra continued that the BTDC is governed by the Balinese concept of "Tri Hita Karana" and can be promoted as a destination that is environmentally concerned. In this way he hopes a more positive image of Bali tourism can be presented to both the Balinese and the world.
