Kompas.com reports that the man who heads the Bali police force, General Hadiatmoko, has threatened to fire any member of his constabulary proven to be involved in any form of gambling.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, September 30, 2010, General Hadiatmoko said, "beginning today, I no longer want to hear of a policeman who tolerates, participates in, financially backs or even has knowledge of a gambling den."
The Chief said he has no reservations about firing a member of the police force who is found to still be involved in any way with gambling. "If there is any gambling operation getting backing from the a policemen, there will be no forgiveness for you," Hadiatmoko warned.
Underlining his sincerity to stop gambling in Bali, General Hadiatmoko has issued an order requiring all his precinct commanders sign pacts of integrity and pledges supporting his absolute stand against gambling.
