Internationally acclaimed composer, recording artist and actor Michael Franti will headline a benefit concert for the Bumi Sehat Foundation and the Environmental Bamboo Foundation on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2010.
The venue for the "old and new" celebration is the Panchoran Retreat in Ubud, Bali. Doors will open at 9 pm.
The musical line-up for the night will see Navicula - Indonesia's premier grunge rock band open; followed by Michael Franti's performance. The night of revelry, relaxation and conviviality continues until dawn with Anonymous Sound System, DJ Mikey Moran and DJ Boodi Haze.
Bumi Sehat is a family health not-for-profit organization with clinics in Bali and Aceh, credited with the safe and gentle delivery of thousands of babies. Respect for culture, respect for nature and the wise use of the science of medicine has earned Bumi Sehat a much-loved reputation among the communities it serves.
The Environmental Bamboo Foundation Bali (EBF)offers practical solutions to preventing the deforestation of the planet. EBF combines research, education and hands-on utilization of Bamboo as a sustainable, renewable resource for creating human shelters.
