Dutch Treat: Exceptional Hospitality Education in Bali

Bali Campus of Stenden University Offers Internationally Accredited Hospitality Degrees.

Bali News: Dutch Treat: Exceptional Hospitality Education in Bali

(1/28/2011)

Over the past ten years Stenden's International Hospitality Program has been voted as the premier choice for applied studies in the Netherlands. Programs are run across a network of global universities serving over 10,000 students located in Holland, the Middle East, South Africa, Thailand and Bali, Indonesia.

Focusing on both theoretical and practical training, the small, yet modern, Bali campus is home to a select student body of highly-motivated future tourism leaders taught by a distinguished faculty.

Supported by an operating mock-up front office, three mock-up hotel rooms, and a fully operational student run and managed learning hotel the Indonesian campus is set on the island of Bali - long recognized as a world favorite holiday destination. Cognizant of its surrounding environs, Stenden University Bali offers field trips, career training and guest lectures by leading experts working in tourism – all complementing a world-standard education provided to an international array of students.

Using a problem-based-learning approach, students can earn a BBA degree in International Hospitality Management. Graduates from Stenden's Bali campus finish their four-year course with a Double Bachelor's Degree accredited by both the Indonesian and European Governments.

In order to graduate, students must complete a core curriculum in the major area of study while being encouraged to also pursue a range of minor areas of specialized study that can form the basis of a post-graduate program in the future.

As part of the Indonesian component of their degree, students studying at the Bali campus participate in cultural awareness and appreciation courses. These are designed to provide the students with a personal connection to both the island and its economy. This approach allows students to experience first hand the challenges of developing sustainable hospitality in a way that preserves the endemic values that for the core-basis of Bali's attraction as a world hospitality destination.

Through cooperation with local accommodation providers Stenden University Bali coordinates healthy and affordable living environments for its students.
