The Central Bureau of Statistics in Jakarta have confirmed the final tally of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in 2010 totaled 7 million, an increase of 10.74% when compared to 2009 arrival totals.
Quoted in Tempo Interactive, Rusman Heriawan, Indonesia's chief statistician said, "this is in accordance with the Tourism Ministry's target."
Due to the higher arrival numbers, Heriawan also reported an increase in foreign exchange earned form tourism up 20.63% at US$7.6 billion.
"The average spending per visit went up to US$ 1,085 or a 9.02 percent increase," Heriawan added.
