W Resort & Spa Opens in Bali

W Hotels Worldwide unveiled its newest property with the opening of the W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak on March 1, 2011.

Located in Bali's fashionable enclave of Seminyak, the new property fittingly boasts modern design, and signature bars and restaurants.

W Bali's Innovative Design

Showcasing distinctive architecture by SCDA Architects and interior design by AB Concept and Poole Associates Private Limited, the Bali property incorporates the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the destination with bold designs and textures. Using a contemporary take on traditional Balinese design, spaces allow guests to mix and mingle and be a part of the scene or to remain unseen as they escape into their own retreats.

A lobby welcome includes the signature W Lounge captured by vibrant tropical pinks and purples, over sized day beds facing the sea, and sturdy synthetic rattan seating that further blurs the line between inside and out. At Welcome monsoon screens and whistles through a wall of hand- blown glass jars, each holding a piece of capiz shell, allows the wall to "sing." The sleek resin contours of the W Lounge accented with eye-catching, back-lit bar, meld with lampshades woven from synthetic rattan resemble pagoda roofs in Bali.

W Bali's Signature Bars & Restaurants

W Bali also features an eclectic assortment of signature restaurants and lounges. Guests can sip cocktails or relax over afternoon tea at W Lounge or eat, drink and play in WooBar, a three-story bar on the beach. W Bali also hosts distinctive concept restaurants, including Fire, an urban, casual grill restaurant featuring a dramatic open kitchen, or W' seaside beach club, Starfish Bloo, headed by Chef de Cuisine Jack Yoss who presents his interpretation of Pan Asian cuisine utilizing Western cooking techniques.

The Accommodation

The Resort's 158 retreats and suites exude high-energy interiors and vivid design, complete with modern amenities such as complimentary wireless Internet, BOSE® in- room entertainment systems with MP3-player docking station. The retreats are some of the largest on the Island with the majority offering views of the Indian Ocean. Seventy-nine villa retreats, including one, two and three-bedroom villas are also available - each with private entrance and pool.

Other facilities include SWEAT - a state-of-the-art fitness center and the AWAY Spa offering 24-hour a day therapy treatments.
