Air Asia Indonesia will increase flight frequencies to Bali and Medan (North Sumatra) beginning April 12, 2011 through February 29, 2012.
The additional flights will operate from two Air Asia Indonesia hubs: Jakarta and Bandung.
The president director of Air Asia Indonesia, Dharmadi, told the press on March 19, 2011: "We have added flight frequencies because of high customer demand. Until February 2011 the load factor on our Jakarta-Bali flights reached 92%, while on our Bandung-Bali and Bandung-Medan flights load factors averaged 85%. These figure all surpassed our targets."
These additional flights will bring the number of daily flights between Jakarta and Bali from five to seven. The Bandung-Bali and Bandung Medan flight will increase to twice daily from their current once daily frequency.
To celebrate the additional flights, the director of marketing and distribution for Air Asia Indonesia, Widijastoro Nugroho, announced that special prices are being offered to the public wishing to visit Bali or Medan. Said Nugroho: "For the route Jakarta-Bali and Bandung-Bali we are offering a special price of Rp. 129,000 (US$14.50) and for Bandung-Medan ticket prices begin from Rp. 169,000 (US$18.80). We hope that with the additional frequencies we can help increase tourism to Bali and Medan."
