The manager of the Blue Eyes Karaoke Club in Sanur, IG Ngurah Wicaksana, has been sentenced to ten months in prison suspended to six months probation after being convicted of pandering by providing nude dancers for customers at the club in September of 2010.
Charged under KUHP 296 of the Indonesian criminal code, Wicaksana could have been sentenced to one year in prison.
The case traces back to September 1, 2010, when officers from the South Denpasar Police precinct raided an unlocked karaoke room at Blue Eyes where they discovered three women dancing for three customers.
As reported by Radar Bali, the three women – Veronics Walingkas, Novel Penekenan and Maya Lumingkewas, told police during interrogation that they had been paid Rp. 2 million each (US$222) plus an hourly bonus of Rp. 300,000 (US$33) to perform erotic nude dances at the club.
Wicaksana was found guilty of pandering in his capacity as the manager of the club by providing nude dancers for customers.
