The chefs at the culinary helms of the four Alila Resort and Villa properties in Bali will converge at Alila Villas Soori's Coast Restaurant to present not-to-be-missed special Chefs' Dinner on Saturday, April 30, 2011.
The four talented chefs will be composing a collaborative symphony of flavors via a specialty dinner featuring western dishes prepared with ingredients proudly sourced from the finest indigenous produce of the island.
The all-star lineup of chefs are: Chef Eelke Plasmeijer of
Alila Ubud, Chef Nyoman Santika of
Alila Manggis, Chef Ashton Hall from the host venue of
Alila Villas Soori, and Stefan Zijta of
Alila Villas Uluwatu. Each man will bring to the feast skills and expertise acquired during their individual sojourns in pursuit of culinary excellence.
Chef Eelka Plasmeijer - Alila Ubud
At
Alila Ubud, Executive Chef Eelke Plasmeijer's passion for cooking with fresh, organic ingredients have found a natural home at the
Alila Ubud's Plantation Restaurant.
Fresh from his previous tenure as
Chef de Cuisine at
Ma Joly &
Kupu Kupu Barong Beach Resort. Chef Eelke is the man credited with establishing
"Shy" - a fine dining restaurant in Jakarta. In Bali, Chef Eelke is now at home on the range at
Alila Ubud where he prepares organic produce grown in his own garden.
Chef Santika - Alila Manggis
Chef Santika, a Son of East Bali, commands the culinary brigade at
Alila Manggis after an assignment in the Turks and Caicos Islands at the
Amanyara of the Caribbean. Chef Santika, together with the culinary team at the
Seasalt Restaurant, conducts popular cooking classes at the
Alila Manggis incorporating locally-sourced ingredients.
Chef Ashton Hall - Alila Villas Soori
Alila Villas Soori's Chef Ashton Hall brought years of culinary experience when he landed on the shores of West Bali's Kelating beach, fresh from his previous post at the
Felix Restaurant of
The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. At
Alila Villas Soori's restaurants, Chef Hall features the best from local markets in what he has dubbed "ingredients driven" cuisine.
Chef Stefan Zijita - Alila Villas Ulkuwatu
Chef Stefan Zijta of
Alila Villas Uluwatu worked previously as executive chef of
"Shy," - the stunning Anouska Hempel-designed fine-dining restaurant in Jakarta. Stefan has brought to
Alila Villas Uluwatu his own brand of innovative French cuisine prepared with local Balinese ingredients. A believer of regional produce, this creative young Dutch chef is known for his inspiring dishes that showcase his well-honed classical cooking techniques.
