Nikko Bali Resort and Spa has received certification as an "Eco Hotel" from TUV Rheinland Indonesia, becoming the first hotel in Bali to be so recognized. A prestigious award requiring a rigorous review based on internationally recognized standards of environmental excellence, this latest milestone is part of the resort's operational mantra "Nikko Bali Goes Green."
To celebrate the occasion,
Nikko Bali Resort and Spa received their certification from
TUV Rheinland at a special "Green evening" held on Thursday, April 21, 2011. The evening attended by the media, government officials, non-government organizations, hotel staff and business partners provided the opportunity for both conviviality and for the hotel to briefly detail its continuing efforts to achieve environmentally sustainable practices and thank the members of the Hotel's team.
"These magnificent people have dedicated their work to follow through every single requirement for us to achieve the ECO HOTEL status and we honour their outstanding efforts in creating a greener and better resort" said Jean-Charles Le Coz, General Manager of
Nikko Bali Resort and Spa. "People are more concerned about the environment, we've been doing what we do for the past 10 years and now we've finally got the acknowledgement. Now we are proud to say that Nikko Bali Resort and Spa is 'green' and we're the first hotel on the island to achieve this. We sincerely hope that this will be a start for Bali and within the next 5 to 10 years, Bali will be cleaner and greener than ever."
