First celebrated in the U.S.A. in 1970, Earth Day is now an annual event celebrated on April 22nd mobilizing an estimated one billion volunteers in over 192 countries.
In keeping the their corporate mantra of "Save the Planet," more than 200 members of the management and staff of the
Hard Rock Hotel Bali undertook a beach and street cleaning campaign in the areas surrounding their landmark Kuta beach hotel. Running from 4 pm on Earth Day and concluding with a majestic Bali sunset.
Aulianty Fellina Rizal, Director of Marketing Communications for the hotel, said: Our aim is to encourage individuals to take responsibility for the environment through a range of affordable actions. Climate change and other environmental challenges impact every corner and community on the planet. And it is truly impressive to see so many communities responding to the challenge with grassroots enthusiasm and commitment. In this context, the Earth Day Campaign is playing a leadership role by providing practical action to make a difference."
