Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center Turns 3 – celebrating a corporate commitment to "Ride the Wave to Victory" by increasing group awareness on protecting the environment.
Over a period of ten days, the Aston team organized anniversary celebrations around a "charity week" that included a "clean up your city day" on Kuta Beach on April 30, 2011, promoting the idea of adopting a "diet" that limits or eliminates the use of plastic bags. Members of the Aston Denpasar team swept the length of Kuta Beach seeking to remove all traces of plastic bags by collecting loose plastic and socializing the idea of a "living a life without plastic bags" to residents and visitors at the popular beach.
The beach clean up was followed up with a blood drive on Tuesday, May 3rd, involving hotel staff who donated 35 sacs of fresh blood for use by the
Indonesian Red Cross.
The week wound up with a turtle release program. Working with the
Turtle Conservation Center and the
World Wildlife Fund, funds earned by the hotel staff during a car wash fund raiser held on April 30th were donated to the
Conservation Center and the release of baby turtles into the surf of Sanur Beach on the morning of May 6, 2011.
The anniversary celebrations ended on May 9th with a joint prayer service, group photos, games and a staff dinner beside the hotel's swimming pool. Service of food and drink for the final evening was relegated to the hotel's department heads and assistant managers who provided outstanding service to junior staff including the casual staff incited to join the evening's party.
