Speaking of the offerings which have so captured her heart, Philippa says: “Not only do i find them incredibly beautiful, but also the devotion and faith with which Canang are made inspired me to do my book. I wanted to create awareness of Bali’s most beautiful traditional art form. With modern lifestyles it is beginning to die out in some areas – I hope that I can create awareness and interest. “

Creating her own literary offering to her island home of the past 9 years, Philippa has designated 10% of all proceeds from book sales will be give to Bali’s neediest charities.

Born in Buckinghamshire, England, Philippa Goldie did her “A Levels” before attending Sheffield University where she studied Business and Finance in Tourism. Upon graduation, she spent the next three years traveling the globe, pausing just long enough to replenish her finances before moving on to her next adventure.

in 1991, Philippa joined Abercrombie & Kent a world-renowned tour operator where she shared the responsibilities for the Company’s UK Sales department for 8 years prior to having children.

Moving to Bali in 2001 with her family, she stayed for nine years before reigniting her wanderlust.

A woman of the world, Philippa speaks three languages fluently and is conversant in three more.

Her attractive tribute of Balinese ritual offering costs Rp.250,000 (US$28.40) and is available at Periplus Books throughout Indonesia and Biku in Petitenget. The Books is also sold at Desa Seni, Oberoi Hotel and Conrad Bali Resort and Spa.
