Rehane Abrahams and the Firefly Theatre Company will present William Shakespeare's "The Tempest" at the Bloo Lagoon Outdoor Amphitheatre in Padang Bai, East Bali on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
The Bali production will be presented by a group of Bali-based thespians and interdisciplinary artists of the Firefly Theatre Company,
who specialize in contemporary, intercultural theatre.
The story-line is set on a remote island where the exiled Duke of Milan, Prospero, is busily planning the triumphal return of his daughter, Miranda, to power through a series of conceits and manipulations. In collaboration with nature, Prospero creates a storm that brings his brother Antonio and the King of Naples to the shores of the island. As the story unfolds, Antonio's usurping nature is revealed and the marriage of Miranda is arranged to Alonso, the Son of the King.
