A nationwide reshuffle in senior police command positions will see Bali’s chief of Police, Inspector General Hadiatmoko, reassigned to a new role as the chief of police for East Java. Hadiatmoko had held the top law enforcement job in Bali for less than a year, assuming the Bali "top cop" post on the island in August 2010.
Widespread promotions and rotations in top police positions were announced by National Police Headquarters in a "secret" telegram dated June 30, 2011.
General Hadiatmoko’s predecessor as chief of police in East Java was Inspector General Untung S. Radjab, who has now been promoted to the chief of police for the Jakarta Metropolitan area.
Moving to Bali to take over the position vacated by Hadiatmoko is Inspector General Totoy Hermawan Indra, whose last posting was as an expert staff in the State Intelligence Agency (BIN)
The change in various commands within the national police was the first reshuffle since the appointment of National Police General Timur Pradopo in October as the head of the Republic's police force.
