General Tototy told the press he was ready to carry out the policies of his predecessor, General Hadiatmoko, who he said had managed to create and maintain a peaceful situation in Bali.
“I have heard of the many advances achieved by Inspector General Hadiatmoko and I will continue his policies, but perhaps with technical approaches that are different,” explained General Totoy.
General Totoy, originally from Bandung, West Java, last posting was as an expert staff assigned to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), assigned to the Social-Cultural section.
Bali’s new Chief of Police pledged his force would be prepared to answer every form of terrorism that can threaten the Bali’s security situation. Adding, “I hope we can create a harmonic synergy between the police and various branches of the government including the Armed Forces, and also religious figures, the youth, the mass media and the political organizations active in Bali.”
