'Spirit of a Champion' Performance of Traditional Martial Arts at West Resort Nusa Dua, Bali on August 13th in Support of UNICEF Check Out for Children Program.

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali will present “Spirit of a Champion” – a dynamic stage performance of dance and traditional martial arts at the Nusa Indah Hall of the Bali International Convention Center on Saturday, August 13, 2011.

Between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. an inspiring performance will include:

Wushu - an exhibition martial arts form as well a full-contact sport based on traditional Chinese martial arts.

Barongsai – the traditional Chinese Lion Dance.

Pencak Silat – the traditional indigenous martial art form of Indonesia, loosely based on the movements of the monkey and the tiger

Capoeira – A Brazilian art form combining martial arts, sports, dance  and music.

Proceeds from the evening will be added to the substantial funds already collected from the The Westin Nusa Dua’s “Check Out for Children” program operated in conjunction with UNICEF.

Since 2003, Starwood Hotels has pioneered a fund raising competition among its worldwide network of hotels. To date, more than AU$7 million has been raised through the generosity of Starwood guests.

Tickets

Tickets for the “Spirit of a Champion” performance scheduled for 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th cost Rp. 50,000 (US$5.70).

Those wishing to join an introduction course on Wushu conducted between 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. can pay Rp. 75,000 (US$8.50) that also includes admission to the 6:00 p.m. performance.
