Tens of members of a group identifying themselves as the Federation of Airport Traders (P2B) from the Ngurah Rai International Airport have made representations to the management of Bali’s airport, seeking clarification on future prospects of being able to continue their airport-based businesses.
As reported by
Bisnis Bali, the
P2B were received by the airport’s general manager of the airport, Tri Basuki.
The chairman of
P2B, Wayan Sukses, said, “We came to ask for a clarification as to whether there is a place for our members to sell their goods at the airport once the airport project is completed.” He said that the federation’s members wished to know more about the bidding process now open for commercial space at the airport and whether or not they were guaranteed places of business in the upgraded airport.
An airport spokesman said any final decision on the tender process and who would be allowed to operate businesses at the airport was a matter solely for a decision by the central office of
Angkasa Pura in Jakarta.
