The National News Agency Antara reports that 12 Chinese workers employed at the Steam-powered electrical generating plant (PLTU) in Celukan Bawang, Buleleng, North Bali have been deported by immigration authorities.
The head of the Singaraja immigration office, Filianto Akbar, said, “The 12 foreign workers from China were deported because they did not hold work permits issued by the Ministry of Manpower or related agencies.”
He explained that all foreign workers employed at the PLTU Celukan Bawang must meet two requirements: they must have temporary stay permits and work permits issued by the appropriate departments.
“The fact is that those that were deported only held visitor visas. They had been told long before to meet all the legal dosumentationrequirements for foreign workers,” added Filianto.
