Opened officially in February,
Tapeo Gastrobar presents itself as
“The Real Tapas Experience.” And, indeed, the unobstructed views of the world-famous Kuta Beach with a wrap-around deck for casual
al fresco seating makes
Tapeo a great place to “chill” after some serious shopping at the top-line shops of
Beachwalk, watching the latest film release at the
Cineplex or spending the day on thenearby beach.
Owned and operated by the
MRA Group who other culinary ventures include
Hard Rock Cafe and
Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream, the
Tapeo Gastrobar's commitment to “
real tapas” includes the employment of Chef Victor Taborda – a native of Barcelona. Prior to his Bali appointment, chef Taborda has worked at
Martin Berasategui a 3-star
Michelin restaurant in Lasarte-San Sebastian, Spain; served an internship at the 2-star
Michelin Hotel de Ferran Adria in Seville; and completed an assignment at
Tragabuches in Southern Spain and as the head chef at the restaurant
La Veranda.
While the
Tapas is great – be sure to also try the large range of authentic Spanish cuisine on offer including
Paella – served in at least 6 different versions.
The selection of both drinks and food are enticing and extensive, eliciting a personal commitment to return for a second and third time just to work your way through the more interesting parts of the tempting items on offer.
Best time to Visit? We recommend 5-8 pm for sundowner drinks and a brilliant assortment of
tapas to be shared with friends. The Sunset is world-class, too!
